Happy anniversary everyone! This post marks the three year anniversary of An Out of the Way Place and what a three years it’s been! In celebration, a special collection of some of the best photos from over the years can be found at the end of this post!
For those of you with me since the beginning, we’ve seen a lot of the world together. Over 20 countries, a hike across Spain, an Ironman, a bike trip across Europe, and a trek to Everest base camp: these have been just a few of the highlights of what has made the last three years the best years of my life and what I hope has been a very entertaining read for all of you!
For those of you who started reading recently, first of all welcome. While these past three years will be hard to top, I promise I’ll try! In the near future expect to see posts about the little known Baltic countries of Europe. Soon after that it’ll be time to switch continents as I head to North America. We’ll search for out of the way places in the big cities of America’s east coast and also head out into the wilderness together. I’ll also be keeping you posted as I torture myself some more, this time with a 50-mile (80km) ultra marathon along the Potomac River (George Washington would be proud!).
Even more than my own adventures, I hope this coming year will be more and more about you. It’s already thanks to your financial and emotional support that I’ve been able to come this far. Now, with your guest photos and post, we’ll be covering more of this amazing world than one person ever could. So keep sharing your photos, stories and comments, but for now enjoy a collections of some of the best moments from over the years!
A sincere thank you again to all my readers. Living a life on the road could be a very lonely experience, but thanks to you, I’m never alone!
