The Camino de Santiago has been walked by pilgrims for over a millennium along the same path, so it is unsurprising to find many markers and monuments along the way. One of the most striking was this sculpture located atop a mountaintop just past Pamplona:
The walk up was quite tiring and many people chose to stop and rest here, others, like the anonymous pilgrim in this photo, chose to move right along. I stopped long enough to enjoy a small breakfast sold by a rancher from Uruguay, who had a food cart to serve the many pilgrim resting there. I stayed just long enough to enjoy my coffee and capture this lucky photo.
